Abstract

Abstract

             The objectives of this dissertation are 1) To study the applications of Iddhipada 4 in promoting local wisdom preservation of personnel in Banwiang Manicipality, RongKwong, Phrae, Province. 2) To study difficulties on applying Iddhipada 4 in promoting local wisdom preservation practiced by personnel in Banwiang Manicipality, RongKwong, Phrae, Province. 3) To suggest on applying Iddhipada 4 to promote local wisdom preservation for personnel in Banwiang Manicipality, RongKwong, Phrae, Province according to the result derived from the research.

             This research is the mixed mothed one. The data were conducted by both quantitative analysis, where the population filled out the set of questionnaire, and qualitative analysis, where the in-depth interviews were conducted.

 The result of the research

             Most of the personnel in Banwiang Manicipality have the right understanding and perception of Iddhipada 4 aligning with Buddhist principle on the basis that Iddhipada 4 is the path of accomplishment, whomever practice the principle will be able to achieve enlighten achievement and prosperity in career life. The research shows that in general the personnel in Banwiang Manicipality highly adopt the practice of Iddhipada 4 to promote the preservation of local wisdom, where the  is equal to 4.21. All the four dimensions of Iddhipada are also revealed high in application. Chanda is shown as the highest in adoptation,  is 4.30, followed by Viriya which  is accounted as 4.22, Vimamsa,  is equal to 4.16, and Citta, where  is 4.14, respectively.

 Difficulties on applying Iddhipada 4 to promote preservation of local wisdom practiced by the personel

    The study shows that the obstacles preventing the personnel on practicing Chanda cause by; the lack of truly understanding the nature of the tasks and the contexts of promoting the preservation, which results in dissatisfaction to perform the task; and the workload of the tasks. With the Viriya dimension, the difficulties are the thought of unwillingness, low motivation, and unclear goal on performing the tasks. The causes preventing the personnel on applying Citta are loosing the mindfulness and focus during performing the tasks, and lacking of realizing on the value of the tasks. Obstacles on performing Vimamsa are; complaining other without reasoning and investigating oneself on any possible faults caused when the problems occur, which resulting in conflicts in the organization, and lacking of initiative on finding a solution.

 Suggestions on applying Iddhipada 4 in both policy and practice

      Apply Chanda or will and aspiration by rising up the truly understanding of the tasks, investing on self-development, and adjusting oneself mind to clearly see the value of the task and the value of promoting local wisdom preservation. Practicing Viriya or diligent energy of work by recruiting people who are willing and motivate to accomplish the tasks, and continuously motivating the personnel to accomplish the tasks. Applying Citta or thoughtfulness and intention on work by continuously focusing on and raising an awareness of the tasks. Practicing Vimamsa or thoroughly thinking by; adopting rational thinking, reasoning, self-learning and development; being attentive on performing tasks; and evaluating and improving the performances.
